Trend: Sneakers and Suits

8 May 2017

Meet every Jonathan D man’s new killer combination, the tailored suit and a pair of sneakers. When it comes to getting the look spot on, we have three top tips you need to know to make a stylish statement:

1. Always pair your sneakers with a well-made suit. How can you tell it’s well-made? Simple. The suit will look like it’s been made for you. The fabric will be soft and it will feature detailing like subtle branding, piping, slimming side-entry and jetted pocketing like Jonathan D’s Butler jacket and matching trousers.

2. Complement with colour. You don’t want to wear sneakers in the same colour as your suit, but you still want your look to tie together nicely. Say you’re wearing Jonathan D’s France jacket and matching trousers (in a navy or petrol finish) over a grey shirt, you’d want to wear it with a pair of JD’s retro Jasper sneakers in a white and grey finish. The grey from the shoes go with the grey from your shirt and the dark colour of the suit frames your look.

3. Don’t wear your gym shoes. When it comes to sneakers and suits, you want the style to be cool and casual but still sophisticated. Choose sneakers that still have an elegant edge like Jonathan D’s Antonio or Jake sneakers. Both are designed for comfort and made with PU and mesh uppers, plus they come in slick darker colourways so be sure to pair with darker colours.
